Has Anyone Tried Red Rose Real Tea?

In my UniVoxBox from influenster.com, I received a sample of Red Rose Real Tea. I'm a huge fan of real lemon tea. But, I have to admit, flavored tea isn't my thing. I love this new squeezable drink enhancer trend. I like that you can add how much or little flavoring you desire. What I love about the Red Rose tea is I can add just a little flavored tea to my lemon tea. I decided I just don't care for how strong the flavored teas are. Now, I can have just a hint of flavor in my tea. It's awesome.

Now, as embarrassing as it is to admit, it's been a month since I received my VoxBox. I still haven't been to the grocery store to try the lemon flavor. I know, I'm a slacker. But, a big trip to the grocery store is just going to have to wait till after my STATs final on Monday. The quality of the flavored tea is awesome, so I'm sure the lemon will be delightful as well.

Has Anyone Tried 6pm.com? Promo Code Alert!

Quite possibly one of my favorite shopping sites of all time is 6pm.com. If you've been living under a rock and haven't checked out this place, you need to. Now. No really, I'll wait. No! Just kidding, I won't....you'll be a while! 6pm is an outlet store for zappos.com, another great site. 6pm has amazing prices on pretty much everything you need. They have designer label clothing for men, women, and children, including extended size runs. They have housewares and electronics, too. The shoe section is my favorite place, of course. Not only do they have great designer heels and flats, but also a great athletic shoe collection. Sales change about every 3 or 4 days. When they put a brand on sale, don't hesitate. Because it's an outlet, not all sizes are available in all styles and supplies are limited. Things go quickly! For most holidays they run extra low price sales. One of my favorites is always the New Year's sale. If I remember correctly, everything was under $20.14 this year. They also run a Valentines $14 sale that rocks! Shipping is always free, and always UPS. That's right, no SmartPost! So, you'll actually get your items in 2-4 days. They have a rewards program called Brandaholics. For every $450 you spend (Don't quote me on that $$ amount. I'm pretty sure that's it.) you get a 10% off coupon. I'm actually quite embarrassed to admit how many I've earned. I did most of my Christmas shopping on this site last year.

Occasionally, they will give a one day promo code for an additional 10%-15% the already great prices. The codes are distributed via social media and email. I found a code in my inbox today, so I thought I'd share!

Has Anyone Tried Rimmel London #StayMatteSwitch?

In my VoxBox from influenster.com, I received a full size tube of Rimmel London Stay Matte foundation. For a grocery store brand, it's pretty awesome. It is insanely light. It feels like a mousse. My sample was True Ivory 103. As I started to apply it, I thought for sure it was going to be too light. But, it blended beautifully. It is so soft and light on my skin. I did learn the hard way that a little goes a long way. Which, is good now that I know. It should last quite a long time. My skin is a bit on the oily side naturally, so I did notice it was a bit greasy after extended wear. But, even after blotting, it still looks pretty good. But, for a price tag under $6, it worked better than most of the drugstore brands I've tried. (That's saying a lot since I was the cosmetics manager at a grocery store for years. I've tried almost all of them!) So, here is my "classic go to look". I try to keep it pretty mellow for days up on campus. :)

Has Anyone Tried NYC New York Color Expert Last Lip Color?

Okay, I DON'T wear lipstick. I hate it. I hate the sticky feel. I hate my broken tooth, so I don't want to draw attention to it. I don't like that it comes off after a few minutes, because let's face it, I don't have time to reapply. So, when I received this sample from influenster.com I was apprehensive about trying the NYC New York Color Expert Last Lip Color.

I was pleasantly surprised when I applied it. It's not sticky. It doesn't come off. The color is actually quite fun. Although I can't say it will convert me to a daily lipstick wearer, it will definitely be my go to lipstick for those occasions I do choose to wear any. I'm impressed with the value. For under $3, it is easy to justify buying several colors to play with.

Has Anyone Tried ImPRESSed with Impress Nails?

As part of my VoxBox from influenster.com, I received a package of  Broadway Nails iPRESS Manicures. The pattern choice they sent me is not something I would have chosen had I purchased them myself. But, they looked fantastic on! The giraffe pattern was actually quite flattering. I loved the subtle gold sparkle in the nail as well. This is my second sample I've received. The first sample came in a ShoeDazzle order last year. I found the same pros and cons with both samples.

Pro: Incredibly easy to apply. My 9yr old took the leftovers (the package comes with 24 nails so you can select the perfect size) and did her own manicure.

Con: The nails don't lay exactly flat against my natural nail leaving a slight gap between the product and my nail. This leaves enough space for makeup, food, or whatever else I touch (thank heavens I'm done with diapers!) to get trapped under the nail.

Pro: They are short. This makes them easier to wear for longer periods of time. They stay on for about a week without popping off, as long as you've selected the correct size and applied them correctly. They also look more "real" than the long, bulky Lee Press On Nails of my youth.

Con: The plastic they are made from tends to lose it's shape at the tips. Maybe most press on nail wearers sit at home eating BonBons all day, but I'm just not that girl. I work, go to school, and take care of a home and family. I type for hours each day. These nails are good for 3 days or so before they edges start to bother me.

Pro: They are easy to remove.

Con: They are easy to remove. When I get bored watching online lectures, I admit I start to pick at my nail polish. So, I may have picked them off the other day. oops!

Over all opinion: For around $6, this is a fun way to get a professional looking manicure for a few days. I don't think I could wear them full time. But, they are super fun. And, for the price, hey...why not?

Let's Get This Started!

So, a while back I joined influenster.com. It's a site where you can find reviews on health and beauty products, food, books, and so much more. Now, I'll be the first to admit, the website confuses the hell out of me. I'm never quite sure what I'm doing on there. But, I guess I must have done something right along the way because I was chosen to receive what they call a VoxBox....a box full of goodies to try out. Maybe everyone gets one, I'm not sure. But, they certainly made it sound like I was one of the chosen few. And, really, who am I to complain about a little self-esteem boost now and again? Most of the stuff I've received I've reviewed via twitter, IG, or FB. But, a few things they'd like to see reviewed on a blog. I didn't think it would be appealing to review the tampons they sent on my food blog, so we're going to give this a whirl. Hopefully it won't be the ghost town my other blog has become. I admit, I'm not great at keeping up with it since my camera broke. Okay, okay....I never was. So, here goes nothing!

Here's a sneak peek of the VoxBox. I will be posting reviews soon! :)
